The elevation of the Jim Corbett Park ranges between 400mts to 1210 mts. The geographical area of the Park covers different types of vegetation along its varied topography which comprise hilly and riparian areas, temporary marshy depressions, plateaus and ravines. The southwestern fringe of the park, marked by the hydel dam of Kalagarh and the beautiful lake inside, has remarkably enhanced the scenic beauty of the place. Many species of water birds, both migrant and non-migrant, frequent its waters. Tourists can also enjoy watching the crocodiles and the long snouted fish-eating gharial sun basking on the sand banks.
