Ananda, India’s only lifestyle destination spa today, marks the opening of their challenging and eco-friendly new golf course.

The Course:
Set amidst Sal forest, within the precincts of the Palace of Maharaja - Tehri Garhwal, the 6 hole, par 3 / par 54 golf course (i.e. each hole is par 3 and you play the course 3 times for an 18 hole round), is 489 yards and takes between 45 minutes and an hour to play the six holes. As you walk the course, it offers spectacular views of the majestic Himalayan ranges, the Rishikesh Valley and the distant River Ganges, snaking off to the south.

Six challenging holes have been created on ridges and valleys; there are bunkers on each hole and a couple of tricky water hazards. The greens and tees have specially laid turf which has been imported from United States. The longest hole is 125 yards, whilst the shortest is 75 yards, making the course both fun, testing and interesting for either professionals, amateurs or beginners.

There is also a separate driving range for private golf lessons and there is no need to bring your own golf clubs as clubs may be hired on site. Due to the nature of the course, woods are not needed as irons and putters will suffice.

Together, the driving range and small golf course will provide an outstanding opportunity for both recreation as well as an introduction to the game of golf in an idyllic setting.

* The course is open from 06.30am to 19.00pm
* Last Club hire is at 18.00pm
* Closed sports shoes must be worn
* Children under 14 years are not permitted to play
* Children over 14 years must be accompanied by an adult

Charges:
1 round of 6 holes, golf club hire of one set, 3 used golf balls, 2 tees, 1 score card 500 rupees per person

Extras:
Used golf balls 45 rupees each
New golf balls - 125 rupees each
Packet of tees - 10 rupees
30 minute golf lesson - 200 rupees per person
